Game changer definition: an event, idea, or procedure that effects a significant shift in the current way of doing or thinking about something.
A few years ago, when I was facing a continual struggle, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to pray for a game changer. I believe the Holy Spirit prompted me to pray for this because at the time I felt continually defeated, and only because I was so new to spiritual warfare and so new to the schemes, devices and strategies of the enemy. I had a lot to learn. I’d like to say that I am still learning, but God has since then taught me many things, as well as given me revelations which have helped me significantly on my journey. I’d like to share my testimony with you, because I know that when God gave me a game changer, it quickly turned things around for me.
When we ask God to give us a game changer, we are asking Him to teach us, equip us and set us up for the victory we know we have in Christ. We are asking the Lord to teach us battle strategies as well as how to use the weapons He has already given us. For example: Many years ago, I read in Ephesians 6 about the sword of the Spirit, but I didn’t know how to effectively use it until God taught me. Later in my journey, God taught me how to pray against spiritual attacks. God also taught me how to use praise as a weapon against the enemy. These are all things that God taught me in my journey with Him, because before this I was completely inexperienced. Many of the lessons God taught me, I had to learn by doing and not as theory only. But, when God teaches us to use the weapons of warfare He has given us, the battle can shift very quickly so that we can experience the victory Jesus has already won for us. Thank You Father!
God may give everyone a different game changer based on His knowledge of the spiritual battle we are facing. When God gives you a game changer, it completely turns the situation around, and you may even have thoughts like, “Wow, this changes everything.” That’s what happened to me.
Game changer – Example: No matter what
A few years ago, when I was learning about spiritual warfare and how real these spiritual battles are, I read a book which helped me significantly. The three words which stood out to me in this book were, “No matter what” and they were the game changer I needed at the time.
I believe the Holy Spirit gave me the understanding that no matter what we face, or what our temporary circumstances look like, we have to stand on the eternal unchanging Word of God because that is our source of truth. Circumstances change, trials pass, difficulties are overcome – because these are all temporary. These are but for a moment, but God’s Word stands forever. Therefore, no matter what we face, and no matter how uncertain things may appear, or how distant God’s promises may look, we have the assurance that God’s eternal Word cannot fail. This always gives me comfort and the strength I need to persevere, because we have the assurance that God will never ever go against His eternal Word.
Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled (stands firm) in heaven.
Psalm 119:89 NKJV
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Mark 13:31 NKJV
When I chose to believe God’s Word over what my temporary situation looked like, there was an absolute shift in the spiritual battle I was facing, therefore I knew that God had given me the victory in Christ. Thank You Father! The Lord will keep His promises to us, because His Word say’s that He is faithful and we know that it is impossible for God to lie.
For all the promises of God in Him (Jesus) are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV
I pray that this message may encourage all of us to choose to stand on God’s Word, no matter what we are currently facing. If you find yourself in a continual spiritual battle or struggle, I’d like to encourage you to call on the name of the Lord and ask Him for wisdom. Perhaps the Holy Spirit will prompt you to ask for a game changer which will turn the battle around. God is faithful! He knows what we need and when we need it.
Blessings to you all in Jesus’ precious name.
